Literally the Definition of Style Entered the Gilt Bar for this Luxury Wedding Editorial

I’m just gonna come right out and say it — we’re going to have to change the narrative on weddings like yesterday. And if there’s any question as to why it’s because this editorial shows how couples can seriously up their game! It’s true, just look at this real life couple who were giving off major luxe vibes in this editorial. And the best part about it is the same style and luxe can apply to just about any event — wedding, elopement, or even portrait session. No matter what you call it, no doubt it’ll be the event of the season.

This couple walked the streets of Chicago like the picture-perfect “it” couple and had it all working for them. They exuded style, elegance, and passion (sm) that it was impossible for me not to look at the photos once, twice, three times. They were the epitome of Old-Hollywood elegance with a twist. It was like what I’d imagine present-day Marilyn Monroe to look like if she was walking the streets of Chicago and heading to the Gilt Bar for food, drinks, and a good time.

PLS WITH THE FASHION + BEAUTY

The bride was a genuine show-stopper (or traffic-stopper since they were literally strutting their stuff in the streets)! There’s nothing that says style quite like a fur stole, handbag with pearls, and strappy heels with a pointy toe and bling bows on the top. Er, hello, the Golden Globes are calling and they want to know if she’ll be stopping by the red carpet next year. Come on, the classy and chic look is undeniably one of the best you’ll see.

Oh, and don’t think for a second that the dress didn’t steal the show right alongside the Marilyn Monroe must-have accessories (that’s what I’m calling them, btw). She wore a strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline that was lined with pearls (to match the handbag, duh), a slit that her man seriously made use of in the sexy photos, and tiered skirt. We’ll end with this as far as the dress is concerned….it had a corset back and bow on the butt.

Right, you’re probably going to want to add that to your dress shopping wishlist. It’s a keeper, that’s for sure!

As for the groom, he chose to wear all black. It’s classic, darling, what can I say?!

ONTO THE CAKE + DETAILS

Did I say how awesome I think the Gilt Bar venue is? Because if I didn’t we’re going to have to back this whole thing up rn and say it’s pretty friggin’ amazing! The venue has a photo-op moment as soon as you walk through the entryway with a collage of Polaroid photos pasted all over the walls. Pretty cool, huh?

The warm lighting in the venue was inviting and swoon-worthy. It’s sort of like when you dim the lighting over a candlelit dinner and it feels just right. Yep, you know the feeling I’m talkin’ about. Between that, the candles, baby’s breath and roses that littered the tables, the atmosphere was on-point. Keeping with that vibe, the bouquet was a sight to behold with it being mostly white florals but having a pop of peach and coral.

How could I forget the cake, though?! A serious trend that we’re loving and have been seeing crop up more and more lately is heart-shaped red velvet cakes with vintage piping. They all sound like they look the same, but they don’t necessarily, because the couple opts for things that make it personal to what they want. For instance, we’ve seen ones in the past that have cherries on the top (super cool, btw) or have a different message scripted on the top. This couple, however, chose to go the classic route with a white heart-shaped red velvet cake with vintage piping and the words “just married” scripted on the top.

When they cut into it, all I wanted was a bite of that delicious-looking cake. Seriously, tell me you don’t want a piece of that.

So, obvs, I can’t have that cake, but I can order my own (probably won’t be the same, but it’ll have to do) and grab a glass of champagne because I’d like to toast to this beautiful real life couple whose style and sheer love for each other rocked this editorial.
