Lip Blotting

Lip Blotting is an Art and Here’s the Form

Trust me, blotting your lips is easier than it sounds!

Step one: grab a single-ply tissue and make sure it's nice and flat. You want a clean surface without any lint or residue, so it doesn't mess up your gorgeous pout.

Now, here's the fun part. With your lipstick beautifully applied, gently press the tissue against your lips. Make sure it covers every inch of your lip area. We're not rubbing or sliding here, just a nice, gentle press to absorb any excess oil or product.

Hold that gentle pressure for a few seconds, and while you're at it, grab a little loose setting powder. Use a big powder brush or a velour makeup puff to press a small amount of powder onto the tissue. This will give your lipstick that extra staying power without smudging it.

After a few seconds, it's time to lift the tissue away from your lips. Be careful not to drag it across your lovely lips, as that could ruin your hard work. We definitely don't want that!

Take a moment to admire your handiwork. Tissue blotting helps remove any excess product that could cause transfer or smudging. Your lipstick should look more matte and set, giving you that flawless finish.

Now, if you notice any areas where your lipstick has faded or become a little uneven, don't worry! We've got a quick fix for that. Grab a clean lip brush or use your fingertip to reapply a small amount of lipstick to those trouble spots. Dab the color on and gently blend it with the existing lipstick. Voila! Seamless perfection.

Remember, gentle is the name of the game here. Avoid applying too much pressure when blotting, as that can mess up your lipstick and cause smudging. The goal is to lightly absorb any excess product while keeping that stunning lip color intact.

Tissue blotting is especially handy for creamy or satin finish lipsticks that have a slightly more moisturizing texture. It helps get rid of any unwanted shine and ensures your lip color stays put for longer, without compromising its overall fabulousness.

So, before your big day or any special occasion, give the tissue blotting technique a try. Practice makes perfect, and you'll be a pro in no time. Your lips will thank you for the extra care, and you'll be ready to for staying power with confidence!

XOXO,

Alayne
